The white sand stuck to his hands as he rose from the earth. A soft, warm breeze hit his face and calmed all rising nerves in his once youthful body. China couldn't push himself to move another step, his energy had been spent swimming through uncharted ocean waters since the ship had crashed days ago. His only companion was a ply of drift wood and his conciseness, which was now melting into the cracks of his once whole existence. Rainbows were painted across his eyes from the storm that had put him in his current situation. Palm trees were scattered along the island that lay in front of China, pillars of vine covered rocks stretched beyond sight and blended into the skyline. No noise except the dull roar of a waterfall penetrated his ears. No people, no animals, no life. He became accustomed to the endless silence quickly, and started noticing the smallest of sounds. A cricket created the snare drum, the breeze dancing through the trees became a flute, the coconuts that dropped onto the rocks transformed into bass hits. Earth was music, China was the audience. These are the sounds of Silence.
